HISTORIC DISTRICTS
Historic buildings provide a foundation for the regeneration of many of our towns and cities. Regenerating these buildings can reinforce a sense of community, make an important contribution to the local economy and act as a catalyst for improvements to the wider area. New uses are allowed and sensitive adaptations facilitated, when the original use of a historic building is no longer relevant or viable.
BUILDing is physical work that RECONNECTS dreams with ACTUALIZATION. As we facilitate the creation of solutions with communities, we develop a blueprint, vision, and roadmap of how to plan and actualize the larger sustainable ideas with the most effective strategy.

OAK!LAB is advocacy. The studio provides design + build strategies to communities in Oakland.All neighborhoods reflect social and political decisions throughout history. OakLAB is about design-skills working with communities residents to explore, experiment and evaluate approaches to increase the likelihood of successful transformative change and a re-generative future.
We help communities makes ideas real - through Visioneering Sessions, we collaborate to identify the project and place with greatest needs and opportunities.
