J A Grant has a diverse background and brings a strong understanding of client needs, visitor experience and architecture to projects.
Through working with innovative architecture offices such as Mark Cavagnero Associates in San Francisco; Diana Balmori Associates
Landscape Architect in New Haven, Connecticut and Atelier Volker Giencke in Austria; her experience has evolved to include designs for corporate
offices, school renovations, multi-family housing and public buildings, landscape architecture and urban planning.
Ms. Grant is an Architect, Designer, Project Manager and Construction Administrator. Her experience includes offices, retail, historic renovation,
seismic upgrades, interiors and one-of-a-kind projects ranging in size from 2,000 SF to over 500,000 SF. Her architecture and interior projects have included private and corporate clients, as well as merchandizing display and store design for international
and local retailers.
She has a multifaceted background as an architect and investment analyst. To date she has been Project Manager as well as Architect on
numerous projects ranging from multi-million dollar renovation projects to ten-story buildings. June is also an active participant in urban planning and
development initiatives in the city of Oakland and was recognized in local and national publications. Due to her diverse experiences, Ms. Grant has
the ability to visualize, coordinate, implement and synthesize all aspects of the planning, site selection, design, construction process to meet client
sensitive parameters such as budgets and schedules. Her understanding of the numerous requirements involved on both sides of the table is
instrumental to keeping all interested parties working towards the stated project goals and objectives.
Beyond architectural expertise, Ms. Grant is the front runner for locating new sustainable building technologies and practices for implementation
in the projects undertaken by the San Francisco office. In this capacity she is the liaison with the Center for the Built Environment and a representing
member of the newly formed professional practices group, BALSA Bay Area Leaders in Sustainable Architecture.
Civic life and participation is both an ethical and aesthetic concern for Ms. Grant. As a result, she lectures at high schools in an effort to encourage
young minds to undertake steps towards their own involvement in the future development of their environments. Most recently, Ms. Grant participated
in an all-day urban design charette for the City of Pittsburg, CA where she brought to the forefront the cultural potential on the urbanscape of that city's
large hispanic population.
Throughout, her prior career in Investment Analysis has been indispensable in grasping economic influences and its impact on design. It is this ability to
incorporate social, financial and aesthetic components which makes her approach to the architectural inquiry unique.
Ms. Grant is a graduate of Yale University and holds a Masters degree in Architecture and a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, graduating
magna cum laude, from Baruch College. She is a licensed architect in the state of California and a member of the American Institute of Architects.
